I am pleased to announce that the article “A Global Reassessment of Solitary-Sociable Dolphins“, which I co-authored with Mark Simmonds, is now available online. Unfortunately these animals face many welfare challenges and their interactions with humans often lead to them being injured or dying. Please follow the link to the article if you would like to find out more about recent cases of these animals and to read about how we can better protect them.

Solitary-sociable dolphin paper
My research on solitary-sociable dolphins (co-authored with Mark Simmonds) has been accepted and should, hopefully, be available online soon here. We’re just waiting for the proofs to come through from the editors. Very pleased to be publishing this article as I think it is a really interesting topic.
A review of seal killing practice in Europe: Implications for animal welfare
Our seal killing article has finally been published officially (since August it was only ‘in press’) and for the next 50 days it is available to read or download here.
Success!
I am very pleased to report that my application to Wild-Animal Suffering Research for a small grant has been successful. This means that I will be busy over the next few months researching and writing about how mammal predators are managed in Europe. It’s going to be very interesting!
Seal killing article
I am very pleased to share the news that Mark P. Simmonds, Andrew Butterworth and I have just had an article published in the journal “Marine Policy” which is entitled “A review of seal killing practice in Europe: Implications for animal welfare.” It is not open access, but I hope it will be of interest to those of you who have access to this paper.
